The new 2019 Mazda3 priced starting at $18,000
February 27 2019,
The all-new 2019 Mazda3 was unveiled at the last Los Angeles Auto Show before being introduced for the first time in Canada at the last Montreal Auto Show.
That’s where we learned that the new Mazda3 will start at $18,000 with a six-speed manual gearbox and a powerful 155-horsepower four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine. That’s just the beginning as there are a ton of other versions and models available in the redesigned 2019 Mazda3 family.
All new Mazda3 models will get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, a 7-inch LCD screen, an 8-speaker sound system and the Mazda Connect infotainment system housed in an 8.8-inch touchscreen.
The base Mazda3 GX can also get the Convenience package for an additional $2,3000 (with the manual gearbox) which includes 16-inch wheels, advanced blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, heated front seats, cruise control, air conditioning and body coloured power exterior mirrors. You can add a six-speed automatic gearbox for an extra $1,300.
Next up is the 2019 Mazda3 GS which gets all of the equipment listed above plus dual-zone climate controls, heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and the i-ACTIVESENSE suite of active safety technologies that includes Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection, high-speed Smart Brake Support, Lane-keep Assist System, Lane Departure Warning System, High Beam Control System, Forward Obstruction Warning, and Distance Recognition Support System.
The GS certainly provides the best value. Very little compact vehicles in the Mazda3’s segment provide the features the 2019 Mazda3 GS offered at $22,700. Options on the GS include the more powerful 2.5-liter, SKYACTIV-G engine with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, but the stand out option is certainly the i-ACTIV all-wheel drive system.
Offered with the 2.5-liter engine, i-ACTIV is offered starting at $26,000 in the sedan and $27,000 in the hatchback Sport model. The Mazda3 becomes one of only two compact vehicles to offer all-wheel drive in this segment. To take on the cold Saskatchewan winter, we can’t ask for more.
The top-of-the-line Mazda3 GT starts at $26,200. The 2.5-liter and the 6-speed automatic are standard on the GT sedan, but you can get the 6-speed manual with the 186-horsepower engine in the Sport model.
If you want to upgrade your GT model, you can add all-wheel drive as well as a Premium package that includes leather seats, 10-way power driver seat, rear parking sensors, and Smart Brake Support Rear (SBS-R), Smart Brake Support Rear Crossing (SBS-RC), advanced keyless entry (proximity and ignition), navigation with voice command, windshield-projected colour Active Driving Display (ADD), SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel Link® services (complimentary 5-year trial subscription), and more.
