2019 Mazda6 receives Top Safety Pick from IIHS

The US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has just named the new 2019 Mazda6 one of its "Top Safety Picks", one of the most prestigious honors a new vehicle can receive from the IIHS . The latter is responsible for evaluating the safety of the vast majority of new vehicles in North America.

"Mazda creates vehicles with the driver in mind. By taking an active approach to safety, we are providing greater peace of mind for Mazda6 drivers and all our other vehicles as well, "said Jeff Guyton, President of Mazda.

The Mazda6 is Mazda's newest model to receive the important designation, but certainly not the first. The 2019 Mazda3, Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-9 all received the award as well. The 2019 Mazda CX-5 was named a Top Safety Pick Plus, the highest award a new vehicle can receive from the IIHS.

Mazda's i-ACTIVESENSE system is available as an option or standard on the vast majority of new Mazda vehicles. The latter includes a host of driver assistance technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Prevention to provide added safety in all circumstances.
